NAZA simplifies installation and saves space and weight. With the innovative

All-in-One design, NAZA contains inner damping, controllers, 3-axis gyroscope,

Multiple flight control mode/intelligent switching for NAZA

Naza-M offers three types of control modes : GPS Atti. Mode(with GPS module),

Atti. Mode, Manual Mode. Customer can switch among the three modes to adjust

different flight environment even in the specially weak GPS environment. Naza-M

also can adjust automatically in the flight environment and intelligent switch between

GPS Atti.mode and Atti. Mode to make sure the safety and security of flight.

GPS MODULE AVAILABLE / ACCURATE POSITION HOLD

GPS Module Available/Accurate Position hold for Naza-M

Naza-M GPS will greatly enhance performance for entry AP with Position Hold,

Return-To-Home and Intelligent Orientation Control. With GPS Module,

the multirotors will have position and altitude lock in windy conditions.

Precise hovering in less than 2.5m horizital and and 0.8m vertical.

INTELLIGENT ORIENTATION CONTROL

Intelligent Orientation Control for Naza-M

Usually, the forward direction of a flying multi-rotor is the same as the nose

direction. By using Intelligent Orientation Control (IOC), wherever the nose

points,the forward direction has nothing to do with nose direction:

In course lock flying, the forward direction is the same as a recorded nose

direction.See the following figures(Mode 2):

In home lock flying, the forward direction is the same as the direction from

home point to multi-rotor.See the following figures (Mode 2):

FAILSAFE MODE

failsafe for NAZA

If your transmitter supports Fail-Safe , then you can set Fail-Safe output of

receiver to input port-U .Naza controller has built-in auto level Fail-Safe function.

That means when the communication between MC and transmitter is disconnected,

the outputs of all command sticks from controller will go to center point . If your

transmitter has only 4 channels, then MC will work in Atti. Mode by default

without Fail-Safe function.

TWO LEVELS LOW VOLTAGE PROTECTION

In order to prevent your multi-rotor from crash or other harmful consequences

caused by low battery voltage, we have designed two levels of low voltage

protection. You can choose to not to use them, however we strongly recommend

to open the protections!

 

 

MOTOR ARM

Motor Arm for NAZA

Naza have four ways to start motor,see the following picture:

In any situation start the aircraft (include any motor disarm)Need to perform any

of the ways of breaking rod. During the flight, the motor stall, the immediate

implementation of any of the breaking lever start, the motor will now return to

the rotation, and enhance the safety of the aircraft during the flight.

MOTOR DISARM

Motor disarm for NAZA

Immediately Mode: By using this mode, in any control mode, once motors

start and throttle stick is over 10%, motors will stop immediately when

throttle stick is back under 10% again. In this case, if you push the

throttle stick over 10% in 5 seconds after motors stop, motors will re-start .

If you don’t push throttle stick after motors start in three seconds, motors

will stop automatically.

Intelligent Mode: By using this mode, different control mode has different

way of stopping motors. In Manual Mode, only executing CSC can stop motors.

In Atti Mode. any one of following four cases will stop motors:
a) You don’t push throttle stick after motors start in three seconds;
b) Executing CSC;
c) Throttle stick under 10%, and after landing 3 seconds.
d) The slope angle of multi-rotor is over 70°, and throttle stick under 10%.

 

 

SUPPORTING FUTABA S-BUS RECEIVER

Support D-bus for NAZA

Four channels and more than four-channel receiver supportted, also

PPM and S-Bus receiver supportted.
S-Bus receivers (the general use of the first 8 channels of S-Bus receiver)

to optimize the channel connection, the A, E, T, R, U five-channel function

set in a channel of X2, use only oneservo cable to the S-Bus and X2 can

makes installation quick and easy, not easy to make mistakes.

Hardware Install Problems

 

Does it support multicopters with only 3 propellers included?

No, it doesn’t.

 

Does it support Spectrum transmitters and receivers?

Yes, it does.

 

Do I need use BEC seperated to power the MC?

No need, VU already includes BEC function.

 

Can I use Y wire to connect two motors?

In principle, one MC port connect to one ESC and one motor.

 

What can I do, my aircraft always drifts forward?

Never move aircraft within 5s after power it on. No trim in your transmitter.

 

Low-Voltage Warning is available in manual mode or not?

Yes,Low-Voltage Warning is available in manual mode.

 

Arming makes motors tune too fast or too slow, what can I do?

Please change Motor Idle Speed through assistant software.

 

Please explain why computer doesn’t recognize USB device?

Make sure driver has been installed sucessfully, PMU should be connected to

LED port of MC, not Ext port.

 

Which OSD can support NAZA?

NAZA has no OSD function, 3rd part OSD product can be used.

 

General Problems

 

Can NAZA-M be used on helicopters?

No,It can’t be used on helicopter.

 

Why did I fly the NAZA-M not stable in the low-temperature environment?

Place your aircraft outside for minutes firstly.

 

What’s the usage of NAZA-M EXT port?

Used for GPS Module.

 

Does NAZA-M support PPM receiver?

Yes, it does.

 

Some aircrafts with Naza installed drift a lot, some very stable. How is that?

You can not have position lock without Naza GPS module. The flight performance will affected a

lot by the environment,such as windy condition, mechanically setup, center of gravity, etc.

 

Software Settings Problems

 

After register finished through assistant software, why I still can’t log in?

Please log in your emial box, and click the link to activate the register firstly, then you can enter

the software with the email and password to log in.

 

What can I do when software and main controller can’t be connected?

The assistant driver has not been installed sucessfully. With MC powered firstly,

USB cable connected, then install the driver.

 

How to deal with the configuration error?

Please calibrate your transmitter sticks and then restart MC.

 

No reaction from motors when do arming, what happened?

Please refer detailed instructions in the manual. Start software to check if the

control stick on your transmitter can reach the full range, directions are correct or not.

Please unplug USB when you do the testing.

 

Flight Parameters recommended for Flame Wheel F550?

Default parameters are 100% normally, but it can be adjusted according to actual

flight conditions and different control feeling.

 

How to set up 3-switch for flight control mode?

Connect switch channel to U channel of MC, use Trim menu to adjust 2nd switch to Atti.

Mode, use End Point to adjust 1st and 3rd switch for Manual mode and GPS mode.

 

How to set up Fail-Safe?

Make sure all channels of your transmitter include Fail-Safe, adjust any one of the 3 switch

control modes to Fail Safe mode, then record the position value in Fail Safe of your Tx. After that,

switch to other control mode and turn off the transmitter, assistant software show it jumps into

Fail Safe mode and meantime LED shows blue ligh, setup is done.

 

How to match propellers and motors?

Very important to match Props and motors to get good flight performance. 900KV motor

matching 8-10 inches Props are recommended.

 

What happended when LED flash Red light quickly?

Connect MC with software to check what problem is and then find out a corresponding solutions.

 

Where should the main controller be placed?

MC has to be installed close to C.G. No need any damping, just use 3M double-side sticker.

 

What mode should be used in Transmitter?

Set your model type as Airplane.

 

Does the software support Vista OS?

Yes, it does.

 

The height can’t be locked, why?

Adjust vertical gain, use defaul throttle curve and 50% throttle for hovering.
